INTERNATIONAL DAY OF ZERO TOLERANCE TO FEMALE GENITAL MUTILATION (FGM)

Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) also known as female genital cutting and female circumcision is the cutting or removal of some or all the external female genitalia (which include removal of the clitorial glans,inner labia,outter labia and closure of the vulva). 

The practice is rooted in gender inequality,attempts to control women's sexuality and ideas about purity,modesty and beauty.FGM is usually initiated and carried out by women who see it as a source of honour and fear that failing to have their daughters and grand daughters cut will expose the girls to social exclusion.

Ogun State Home Grown School Feeding Program

With the support of MacArthur Foundation and The Ogun State Government, the Ogun Home Grown School Feeding Program is aimed at promoting accountability and efficiency, focused on providing a free nutritional meal for public primary school pupils (primary 1-3) across 40 Schools within Abeokuta North, Odeda, Ikenne and Imeko Afon Local Governments of the State to improve school enrolment, child health and nutrition, thereby encouraging and increasing local agricultural production, creating jobs, empowering women whilke also improving family and state economy. 

WOCON Lagos Team paid an Advocacy Visit to the Force Intelligence Board

In observance of Worlds Day Against Child Labour, WOCON Lagos Team paid an Advocacy Visit to the Force Intelligence Board (FIB) at the Force Headquarters at Kam Selem House Obalende. Present in the House were 20 FIB Top officials of the Intelligence Unit who listened with rapt attention as the Director of Programmes spoke about the very sad state of Child Labour in Lagos State and indeed Nigeria.
